Well, here we are almost two weeks into the new year and let me guess, some of your resolutions are already just not working out. Mine too. I wanted to lose weight but I haven’t been to the gym once, my goal was to go super early but sometimes Sav doesn’t sleep and I’m intimidated going to a new gym and embarrassing myself (excuses, excuses, excuses). I stopped myself before I even started.
The thing is that I could have gone to the gym every day of this new year so far if I really wanted to. I could be eating a healthy lunch everyday and not have gone to mcdonalds this year already more times than I can count. Two days ago I got little caesars when I 100% knew that I could go home and make myself a healthy lunch and I did it because it was easier.
That’s the thing, resolutions don’t last like a commitment to yourself does. This whole year I already started making more excuses for my actions instead of just putting in the work to see the results I want. This is not just about going to the gym, though it’s in multiple areas of my life. I just use the gym as an example because it’s the resolution I have done the least since this year started.
This is the way I see it, we are two weeks into the new year, give or take a few days. That’s half a month basically, the people who see the results are the ones who make the hard decisions everyday to work towards their goals instead of convincing themselves they cant get there in the first place. Just think about it, if your goal is to lose weight average weight lost by this point, this year, could be 5 pounds! By not starting and putting in that effort everyday we’re already behind.
If there’s anything I learned in the last year watching my daughter grow, it’s that time stops for no one. If you don’t take the time to make commitments to yourself now you never will. Yes it’s only been 2 weeks into the year but it’s TWO WEEKS INTO THE YEAR, do you have anything to show for it? Or do you find yourself falling into the same habits of all the years before this? So let’s start over friends, lets actually meet our goals because 2020,isn’t just our year, it’s the start of our life.
With all of my love,
